Personal

In his free time, Matt enjoys outdoor mountain biking, rock climbing and board sports. He is married and lives with his wife and four daughters in the Morningside neighborhood of Atlanta.

Professional Memberships

Education 

Matt began his graduate studies at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University before earning a Master of Arts in Religion from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Virginia. He also conducted post-graduate work in marriage and family therapy at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur and the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta.  

Training

After leaving his career as a teacher at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Matt began a four year residency in pastoral counseling at the Care & Counseling Center of Georgia, where he received clinical supervision & training. In addition, he served as a case manager and family therapist at the Ridgeview Institute in Atlanta, where he worked with adolescents & families. Matt is committed to ongoing consultation and continuing education in order to best meet the needs of his clients.
